We could do this program on a charter basis for
your group, Monday to Monday or Friday to Friday departures.
Day 1:
Fly into Coca early in the morning and proceed downriver
on the Napo, take dugouts into small blackwater rivers
on the way and rendezvous with Manatee at end of day.
We will be near the Tiputini region. After dinner
on board, introductory evening river trip on small
tirbutary.
Day 2:
Early morning exploration of Tiputini river while
ship continues its journey downriver. Later return
to ship for entrance into Aguarico river system and
exploration in paddle dugouts on the Cocaya river.
After lunch, trek through forest as ship continues
its navegation, now heading up the Aguarico river.
Day 3:
Early morning departure by canoe to explore the Lagartococha
River system (black water ecosystem) and its network
of interconnected lagoons. This is one of the most
remote regions of Ecuadorean rainforests, intagible
by human populations and well protected where pink
river dolphins can be readily seen. Box lunch today
and return to ship for navigation further down the
Napo River and enter the Peruvian town of Pantoja
and spend the night there. This is a most interesting
experience to talk with the local Peruvian people
about their experiences and criteria regarding environmental
issues.
Day 4:
Early morning navigation up the Napo while passengers
explore the Yasuni river system and the Jatun Cocha
lagoons (this ecosystem is rainforest, terra firme,
whereas Lagarto Cocha is floodforest). These lagoons
are rather large and water is typically brown in color.
Return to ship and proceed to Rocafuerte and evening
exploration of the Tiputini river.
Day 5:
Continue upriver while passengers explore region of
Yuturi. In afternoon visit flood forest at Pañacocha
and overnight in tented area by the lagoon system.
Day 6:
Continue upriver and passengers visit parrot lick
at the region of Añangu (this is truly a spectacular
site, practically guaranteed every time). Afternoon
visit to Biological Research Station at Limoncocha,
via the Jivino river. Boat river on the lake. Return
to ship will be by evening canoe ride to observe caimans
and other nocturnal wildlife.
Day 7:
Visit to archaerological museum at region of Pompeya
with respective lecture. Afternoon visit to indigenous
communities and optional evening exploration.
Day 8:
Arrival to Coca and exploration of oil town and afternoon
flight back to Quito.

reasons at time of cruise.
