AMAZON
ECOPARK Jungle Lodge is a touristy, scientific and educational
property, created and directed by a private initiative
back in 1991, opening its doors to the public as an Ecotourism
Lodge in 1995. Several streams of clear water run through
the area. Over 6 miles of jungle trails including un-catalogued
species, natural savannahs and creeks enable clients to
explore the jungle, observe orchids and giant trees.
Amazon Ecopark Jungle Lodge has 60 apartments distributed
in 20 bungalows. Each unit has three apartments, made
of concrete and wood. Each room with independent entrance,
porches and bathrooms, all with air conditioning, electric
showers and screened windows. The bungalows, although
rustic, are pleasantly decorated and provide much comfort
(night light, carpet, indigenous decorative objects, etc.)
The lodge has a panoramic open-air thatched-roof
restaurant with indian-style arquitecture where up to
120 people can enjoy the delicious recipes from the varied
regional cuisine and international dishes. A bar, living
room and reception lobby are also part of the social areas.
A t the ECOPARK gastronomy is an unique
attraction. For breakfast: fresh fruits of the season
(watermelon, papaya, banana etc), variety of regional
fruits juices (taperebá, cupuaçu, açai,
graviola etc.), breads, cookies, white and yellow cheese,
ham, cakes, French toast, pancakes, jams, butter, coffee,
milk, hot chocolate and tea. Eggs (scrambled, fried, omelets)
are prepared upon request.
Lunch and Dinner: buffet style, with various options of
beef, chicken or fish ( tambaqui, tucunaré, pirarucu
, pacu etc), warm side dishes (white rice, potatoes (baked,
fried or boiled), vegetables, salads (lettuce, carrots,
broccoli, tomato etc.), fresh fruits of the season (papaya,
pineapple, mango, watermelon etc) and various desserts
(cupcake pie with Brazil nuts, ravioli cream, cupcake
or passion fruit pudding, banana and meringue dessert,
chocolate cake, fruit desserts etc. (special diet meals
available upon request - extra charge will apply)
The lodge has two large thatched roof
areas which are an excellent option for group events for
private parties or folkloric shows and regional music
performances.
At the lodge you can do any of the following:
jungle treks, visit the Monkey Forest, alligator observation
safaris
in the evening, visit a local native's house and perhaps
learn about rubber processing, canoe trips, pirana fishing,
tour the Meeting of the Waters, and receive instruciton
on jungle survival and medicinal plants.
THE MONKEY FOREST
Close to the lodge is located the Primate Rehabilitation
Center, a project sponsored by the Live Forest Foundation,
whose main goal is to return to the forest monkeys and
wildlife found in the illegal wildlife commerce. At the
center it is possible to take pictures and film rare monkeys
with the safety of the specialized staff.
SURVIVAL
COURSE
ECOPARK also offers the Jungle Survival
Course for groups. The course is given by retired military
officers from the Amazon Jungle Army. The course takes
approximately 7 hours with training on jungle survival,
life in the forest, how to built an emergency shelter,
how to find food, water and to make fire, how to find
a path in the bush and first aid.
BEACH PARTY
ECOPARK can organize for your group a Folkloric night
show on its private beach any time of the year. A great
barbecue style buffet is offered including meat, fish and
poultry, varied salads, hot side dishes and several seasonal
fruits. Round tables decorated with candles and flowers,
torches and a big campfire complete this tropical party. |
